Jewelry design is my passion! My work is inspired by nature with a special affinity for the sea including seashells, snail shells, leaves, twigs, pods and other natural wonders.
All my jewelry is composed of pure fine silver, sterling silver, bronze, copper, or some combination of one or more. No base metal findings are ever used. In addition to creating original fine art pieces using fine silver, bronze and copper, I fuse my own glass and many of my necklaces incorporate my original dichroic glass cabochons as key design elements in my work. Some pieces are enameled as well. I make my own original molds as well for tiny embellishments such as seashells. In addition to my finished jewelry, I also create handmade fine silver focal beads and individual dichroic glass cabochons for use by other jewelry designers. You will see separate sections for these items elsewhere on this site.

Freshly cut dichroic glass cabochons ready to be fired in my kiln

Amazingly, these are the same cabochons immediately after firing. To get round cabochons, I cut my glass into squares! The glass rounds as it fuses.
What is fine silver? It's an even more pure form of silver -- .999 pure -- than sterling which is .925 pure and contains contains other alloys, most notably copper. Fine silver has a somewhat whiter, brighter look than sterling since it has a higher silver content. My jewelry is strengthened and work hardened by firing the pieces in a kiln for the maximum possible amount of time at the highest possible temperature … often 1650 degrees Fahrenheit … then tumbling the pieces in a rotary tumbler with stainless steel shot for hours before burnishing them carefully by hand for maximum strength and durability.
I don't make flimsy jewelry. Wherever possible, I include the silver gram weight of my pieces so you know you're getting sturdy, heavy jewelry items that are made to last. When I wrap beads with sterling wire, I use heavier gauges. All findings are sterling silver, fine silver or copper. I use the finest quality sterling silver chains and sturdy clasps, some of which I make myself.
